Our main purpose is to protect and conserve manta and devil rays. We want to see a world where manta rays and their relatives thrive in healthy, diverse marine ecosystems.
Manta and devil rays, are beautiful, fascinating and enigmatic creatures. However, they are some of the most threatened fish in our oceans, their populations endangered by overfishing, habitat loss, pollution and the climate crisis.
We take a unique, multifaceted approach to conservation through research, education and collaboration. We have built a global network of affiliate projects, and, as a collective, we collaborate with local communities, researchers, ocean advocates, governments and businesses to drive conservation of this species. We collect data that informs marine management decisions and we use the charismatic nature of these gentle giants to motivate, engage and educate people in ocean conservation.
With your support, we prioritise targeting the most pressing concerns for manta rays and conducting the most important research for informing their conservation.
We will reduce the most intensive threats to manta and devil rays to bring them back from the threat of extinction. We advocate for better protective legislation and enforcement, promote less harmful fishing and tourism practices and educate the next generation to continue the conservation of these species.
