The Malcolm Whales Foundation

TMWF: Taking steps to beat Cancer.

The Malcolm Whales Foundation is a fundraising cancer charity in memory of Malcolm Whales. The charity was formed 18 years ago by Malcolm's son, Damien.

As a charity we ‘take steps to beat cancer’ meaning we try to make a difference by being active and having fun, whilst challenging yourself physically. The impact the charity has had on the people that have been involved is incredible.

The charity now organises numerous fundraising events.  The annual Dorset Walk is the biggest event, with 600 participants last year.  Other events include Sports Marathons, Golf Days, Wing Walking to name a few.  In addition to organising events, the charity now also regularly has runners participating in both the Cambridge half Marathon and the London Marathon.

The charity focuses on having a direct impact on people/individuals.  In 2024 the charity opened Malcolm's Retreat, a luxury riverside lodge that offers free respite (for those suffering/recovering from Cancer) and wellbeing breaks (for Carers of Cancer patients).

The charity also has a number of charity partners that it donates to annually.
The next target for the charity is to open a wellbeing centre in Huntingdon within the next 2 years.
