The Living Room

Breaking the cycle of addiction.

The Living Room is a Hertfordshire-based charity with over 25 years’ experience supporting adults affected by addiction through free, therapist-led group counselling. County wide we provide a safe space at our hubs based in Stevenage, St Albans and Watford. We help people build coping strategies, emotional resilience, and peer support as part of their recovery. We also support family members and carers, helping people rebuild healthier, more fulfilling lives.

How Your Support Helps

Run for Recovery

Take on a half marathon or 10K and help someone reclaim their life from addiction.

Every step you run can make a real difference. Addiction takes so much—but with the right support, recovery is possible.

It costs just £50 per week to support someone in treatment. With the average stay lasting nine months, that’s just over £1,900 to help one person rebuild their life.

Since 2000, we’ve supported more than 8,000 people into recovery and lasting freedom from addiction and destructive behaviours.

By running and fundraising for us, you’re not just taking on a personal challenge—you’re giving someone the chance to start again.

Whether you’re a seasoned runner or taking on your first race, your effort can help change lives.
