MK-ACT offers a full range of support and intervention services for people in Milton Keynes experiencing domestic abuse. From initial point of contact for support via our crisis intervention service, to a safe place to live in our refuge for women and children, and a behavioural change programme to address and reduce abuse at the source, we are the experts, with safety of our clients at the heart of everything we do. We support people to successfully escape their situation, or stay safe within their own homes, and through workshops and casework, help them to rebuild their lives after they’ve done so. We work intensively with families to support the children’s specific needs, improve their familial relationships, and facilitate better future outcomes. We are active participants in the city’s safeguarding groups, working with multiple agencies such as police, local authority, and health services, identifying clients most as risk and ensuring appropriate safety measures are implemented. Across the city, we deliver training to working professionals, and facilitate a network of champions, ensuring that as many people as possible have the skills and knowledge to support people experiencing domestic abuse.
