Learn to Love to Read is a small charity targeting socially disadvantaged children within Wandsworth who are struggling to develop the core skill of literacy. Research shows low literacy is linked to poverty and social exclusion and that making children confident readers is the easiest way to improve their life opportunities. To work towards our vision of making “every child a reader’ we provide reading materials, organise early literacy classes (0–4-year-olds), deliver regular parent talks and workshops and offer weekly one-to-one support to primary-age children to improve reading skills and build confidence.

How Your Support Helps

Run, Walk or Roll for Us and Help Change a Child’s Story.

Every mile you run, walk or rolls will help a child learn to read with confidence.

In Wandsworth, too many children are falling behind in reading because of poverty. Without strong literacy skills, their opportunities narrow before they’ve even had the chance to dream big.

We exist to change that.

By undertaking a challenge for us and fundraising you could help fund:

📚 One-to-one reading support for children who are behind
📖 High-quality books for families who don’t have them at home
✏️ Targeted literacy programmes that close the attainment gap

We are a small charity with big impact. Every pound you raise goes directly towards helping children build the skills, confidence and love of reading they need to thrive.
