Crawley Open House has helped people experiencing homelessness and severe disadvantage locally for more than 30 years.
Every night we are ‘home’ to 65 men and women who live in our high-support hostel or one of our move-on houses in the community. We have an outreach team that supports those staying on the streets, in tents, vehicles or in insecure and temporary accommodation.
We resettle nearly 70% of the people we help into somewhere more permanent.
Crawley Open House also runs a Resource Centre where anyone can drop in for a chat, a bite to eat and to use the shower and laundry facilities.
About 50 people visit the Resource Centre daily. Professional help with financial, health and personal issues is offered at no charge, as well as a range of classes in subjects such as employability skills, digital inclusion and English.
The Resource Centre also provides about 20 food parcels a day to those in food crisis and we are part of the Crawley Food Bank Partnership – the town’s largest provider of emergency food parcels.
Crawley Open House receives some statutory funding. However, as an independent charity we are responsible for raising more than 50% of our funding ourselves.
What's coming up in the run for charity events calendar? It's never too late to join one of these great events.
