Helping children and young people with SEND get the education they’re entitled to by law

All children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) have a legal right to an education that meets their individual needs. But many tens of thousands of children and young people with SEND are not getting the support they are legally entitled to.

At IPSEA, we are here to change that. IPSEA is the leading charity in the field of SEND law in England, and we provide free and independent legal advice and support to families of children and young people with SEND. We also provide training on the SEND legal framework, and we influence policy at both a local and national level.

How Your Support Helps

By choosing to take part in an event for IPSEA, you’re helping to ensure that children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) get the educational provision they need to reach their potential.

Every year, thousands of families turn to IPSEA when they’re struggling to get the right education for their child. We rely on donations and fundraising by incredible people to offer vital legal advice when it’s needed most and to fight for the SEND system to work better for children and young people.

Your fundraising will help us to:

  • ensure children with SEND get the support they need, in the right setting

  • provide free and empowering legal advice to families challenging poor and unlawful decision making

  • train volunteers to deliver high-quality, free support

  • provide our raft of free online legal guides, resources and template letters

  • fight for better accountability in the SEND system

  • protect and promote the rights of children and young people with SEND nationally.

We’re here to help.

If you join #TeamIPSEA, we pledge to:

  • provide ongoing support with your fundraising

  • send you an IPSEA t-shirt or running vest to wear with pride

  • let you know the real difference you’re making for children and their families

  • showcase your support across our social media channels (if you’re happy for us to!)

We will be cheering you on every step of the way.
