This is where it all began.
The Asda Foundation Leeds 10K was Jane Tomlinson’s vision. Jane founded the race using funds she raised by completing a series of astonishing endurance challenges, all whilst battling terminal cancer.
Jane died in 2007 soon after launching the first 10K. Today, the event has grown to become the highlight of the city’s running calendar; a hugely popular, inclusive and superbly-supported race for participants of all abilities.
In many ways, the Asda Foundation Leeds 10k captures the can-do, inspirational spirit of its founder.
Throughout the route that takes in many of the city’s historic landmarks, crowds come out in force. A fantastic atmosphere and friendly volunteers make the event unforgettable for all.
Whether you’re running for a PB, fundraising for a cause close to your heart, or simply aiming to get around and enjoy the day, this is the event for you.
We urge all in mental distress, and especially young people, to speak up and ask for help. We do this by distributing signpost devices such as Cameron's Coasters (drinks mats), business cards and wellbeing postcards. All these carry help information and in almost every case this information is customised to signpost the services most important for the setting where they are used. Our aims are to improve mental health awareness and to prevent suicide for all, and especially for young people.
