Teesside Samaritans

On 1st April 1968 Teesside Samaritans opened it's doors to support the comminuity of Teesside. Samaritans have a number of branches across the UK and Ireland.

Every 10 seconds, Samaritans answers a call for help. In 2023, Samaritans volunteers responded to more than 3.3 million calls for help. Every minute, Samaritans volunteers respond to more than six calls for help. In 2023, the average length of a phone call for emotional support to Samaritans was about 23 minutes.

Every day, our trained volunteers are there for people struggling to cope, offering a safe space to talk without judgement. Our service is available 24/7, providing support to anyone experiencing emotional distress, loneliness, or thoughts of suicide. As an independent local charity, fundraising is essential to ensure we can continue delivering this lifesaving service.

By choosing a Teesside Samaritans charity place, you'll be joining a dedicated team committed to making a positive difference in our community. Whether you're an experienced runner chasing a personal best or taking on your first half marathon, we'll support you throughout your fundraising journey.

Every donation will go towards helping to train volunteers, maintain our branch facilities, and keep our listening services available for those who need them most.

Together, we can help ensure that no one faces their struggles alone.
