About Little Hiccups: A Lifeline for Families
Little Hiccups is a Leeds-based charity dedicated to supporting families who have children with additional needs and disabilities. We understand that while the journey of raising a child with a disability is filled with unique joys, it can also bring feelings of isolation and significant challenges. Our mission is to ensure that no family in our community has to navigate that path alone.
Our Core Vision
We believe in inclusion without barriers. We strive to create a "home away from home" where children are celebrated for their individuality and parents find a network of peers who truly "get it." By focusing on the whole family, we help build resilience, friendships, and lasting memories.
What We Provide
-
Accessible Stay and Play Sessions: Weekly opportunities for children to engage in sensory-rich play while parents and carers connect over a coffee and shared experiences.
-
Inclusive Family Events: From hydrotherapy sessions to large-scale parties and outings, we provide safe spaces where accessibility is guaranteed and judgement is left at the door.
-
Peer Support & Wellbeing: We offer a vital emotional safety net, providing parents with a space to talk, share advice, and recharge.
-
Outreach & Information: Helping families navigate the complex landscape of additional needs by providing a gateway to resources and specialist support.
Our Impact
Since our founding, Little Hiccups has grown into a vibrant community. We aren't just a service provider; we are a movement dedicated to visibility and empowerment. Every session we run and every event we host is a step towards a more inclusive Leeds where every child—regardless of their needs—has the chance to thrive.
