Eight communities have already transformed their futures through our libraries. Our goal is to make that 80 over the next 10 years.
Just be a Child brings together volunteers in the UK and Kenya to create community-owned libraries in some of Kenya's most remote villages. More than 1,000 UK volunteers work alongside hundreds of Kenyan volunteers, sharing skills, ideas and determination to create lasting change.
We're about far more than books. We repurpose shipping containers into vibrant libraries, rehome over a million donated books and reuse resources wherever we can—because looking after our planet is part of looking after our future.
Our libraries are only the beginning. They become catalysts for stronger, more resilient communities—unlocking new partnerships, improving security, creating jobs, attracting investment and inspiring developments such as schools, roads and clean water.
