Esteem

Esteem creates spaces where everyone matters, no matter what challenges they face

As one of the last remaining open access youth centres in Sussex, Esteem works with young adults aged 14-26 from ALL walks of life to build lasting self-esteem and stronger communities. We focus on people’s strengths, and actively facilitate independence and initiative. Young adults work jointly with staff to create and embed progress in their lives.

They can access a range of person-centred, wraparound opportunities, including 1-2-1 support such as mentoring, counselling and vocational coaching. We also provide group activities where there’s space to develop social relationships and the chance to get outside, get active, or have a meal.

The safe environment we foster also helps young adults to feel a sense of belonging and to contribute to others, both of which are linked to improved confidence, self-esteem and development of agency.

By continuing to grow and value themselves, young adults can make a meaningful contribution to the peers, families and communities around them.
