According to the 2021 census, there are 5 million unpaid carers throughout England and Wales. Unpaid carers are being pushed to breaking point, with 1.5 million people providing unpaid care for 50+ hours per week. Carers UK provides information and advice, as well as the practical and emotional support that carers so desperately need.

Caring will affect us all at some point in our lives. Carers UK will be here for you when that happens. With your help, we can be there for the 6,000 people who start looking after someone each day.

Carers UK is the only national membership charity for carers:

• We give expert advice, information and support – through our adviceline, website, online tools, factsheets and guides.
• We connect carers so no-one has to care alone - through our peer support service and a network of volunteers working over the phone, online and face to face.
• We campaign together for lasting change - bringing carers together to have a voice, raise awareness and influence decision makers to deliver lasting change.
• We innovate to find new ways to reach and support carers - our expertise and insight drawn from carers’ experiences helps us find better ways to support carers.
