Breadwinners Foundation

Breadwinners Foundation is a social enterprise that turns bread into a bridge to employment for young refugees and people seeking asylum. Through our organic artisan bread market stalls and wholesale business, young people gain their first UK work experience while building the skills employers look for. Our three consecutive programmes guide participants from arrival towards sustainable employment through combining employability training, one-to-one mentoring, and work experience. Since 2017, we have supported over 1,045 young refugees, 76% of whom have moved into employment, education or volunteering, and 92% of whom report improved wellbeing. Our mission is to close the opportunity gap so that young refugees can not only find work, but thrive.
