BAAF - British Association for Adoption and Fostering

BAAF is the the UK’s leading adoption and fostering membership association. Today there are 91,000 children in care in the UK and numbers are growing. 4,000 of them are waiting to be adopted right now, with an estimated 3 children for every approved adopter. We work with everyone involved with adoption and fostering across the UK and have been supporting, advising and campaigning for better outcomes for children in care for over 30 years. We believe that every child deserves a family and where this cannot be the birth family, every action must be taken to find a new loving forever family that provides security and love. Over the past three decades our innovative projects have helped find families for thousands of children in the care system; our campaigns have raised public awareness and led to changes in the law; our influence has been far-reaching on central and local governments throughout the UK, the media and the public; our information, publications and training have informed and developed the skills of millions of people affected by adoption and fostering and those working in social care.
