Arthritis Action
Arthritis Action provides practical help to improve lives of people affected by arthritis.
Arthritis Action was founded in 1942 to help people affected by all forms of arthritis to live a more active life with less pain.
Our supported self-management approach addresses both the physical and mental health impact of arthritis, empowering people with the tools, confidence and knowledge to take control of their condition. No two people feel pain the same way and we aim to tailor support to the individual.
We provide guided advice on healthy eating, diet and exercise, pacing and pain management techniques. Arthritis is the leading cause of disability in the UK and most people with a long-term disability spend less than 1% of their time with a healthcare professional – this is where Arthritis Action aims to help.
We have extensive online resources that cover all aspects of living with arthritis and we run regular online support groups as well as self-management events, which allow people to share their experiences in a safe and supported environment.
